Principal's Welcome

The Cheltenham Ladies' College is an independent boarding and day school for girls aged 11 to 18, a vibrant and dynamic community of around 850 pupils with a 75% to 25% boarding to day ratio. Located near the heart of the beautiful Regency town of Cheltenham with a rich cultural offering, this is a nurturing environment where girls benefit from an exceptional range of extra-curricular opportunities and strong participation in the local community. Our 23 acre estate comprises a main College site, the award winning Parabola Arts Centre, sports facilities, and comfortable boarding and day houses which are a short distance from College. Girls walk regularly to and fro, developing a sense of responsibility and independence from an early age which helps them make a smooth transition into the world beyond school life.
We aim to instil in each and every one of our girls a set of attributes, skills and values that will enable them to make informed choices, be responsible and principled citizens, enjoy career success and achieve personal fulfilment. It matters to us that they not only enjoy their academic studies whilst they are with us but that they have fun, forging strong and lasting friendships that will sustain them throughout their adult lives.
Founded in 1853, the College has been at the forefront of girls' education for almost 160 years and has a worldwide reputation for academic excellence. Offering both A levels and the International Baccalaureate, it is one of the country’s leading schools, with a deep commitment to developing a sense of service to others, compassion, tolerance and an informed global perspective. I do hope you will want to come and experience the unique atmosphere of The Cheltenham Ladies' College for yourself.
