Cross-Country

Cross-Country is an athletics discipline which builds stamina and strength. Girls are encouraged to take an active interest in their fitness levels and there are occasional cross-country runs during lessons in the autumn and spring terms. There is an increasingly popular running club which meets once a week, where girls can run to improve their fitness levels or train for team and individual competitions. There are teams for every age group from U13 to U19 and CLC enters teams and individuals into the following competitions, trials and championships:

  • Cheltenham and District Athletics Association Competition (U13, U15, U17 and U19)
  • Gloucestershire Schools Athletics Association County Championships (U13, U15, U17 and U19)
  • English Schools Athletics Association South West Championships (U13, U15, U17 and U19)
  • English Schools Athletics Association National Championships (U15, U17 and U19)
  • English Schools Athletics Association Cup Competition (U14)
  • English Schools Athletics Association Cup Competition (U16)
