Girls who board live in one of our 10 Boarding Houses: there are four senior houses (for Sixth Form girls) and six junior houses for 11-16 year olds. The junior houses are St. Helen's, Farnley Lodge, Glenlee, Sidney Lodge, St. Austin's, St. Margaret's and the senior houses are St. Hilda's, Beale, Cambray and Elizabeth.
Being a boarder at College is not that different from living at home - just with a VERY large family! Every morning the girls leave their Houses and walk the short distance to College, where classes take place on the main site. They usually return to their Houses for lunch and to relax, before returning to the College for the rest of the afternoon or going to Field for their sports lessons.
After lessons end, girls can have tea down in College before beginning any club or activity (e.g. art club) or they enjoy their ritual "Tea and Toast" at the House before playing sport or just unwinding with their friends before supper. Supper is usually followed by prep (homework), and then a little relaxation before bed. Each House has laundry facilities and music practice rooms. A wide selection of newspapers is provided and TV and computers are available.
Each of the Houses is run by a Housemistress and several resident House Staff. The Sixth Form Housemistresses each have a small teaching commitment; however, the Housemistresses of the Junior Houses do not teach as they are fully involved in looking after the boarders in their care.
Day Girls have their own base where the three Junior Houses (Glengar, St. Clare and Bellairs) are located. Bayshill is the home of the Day Girl Sixth Form House and is located in College. All day girls have lunch in Bayshill Court Dining Room for both girls in the Junior and Sixth Form Day Girl Houses. Eversleigh and Bayshill offer common rooms, coffee-making facilities, study rooms and a resources room. Day Girls meet at their house before College in the morning and return there following lunch and to relax before the afternoon classes.
Each of the Junior Day Girl Houses has a Housemistress plus additional staff and a Housekeeper to manage the day-to-day affairs of Eversleigh. The Sixth Form Day Girl House has College's first ever Housemaster plus a dedicated team to support the girls.
