Fathers' Event - The Marriage of Food and Wine
Date: Friday 9th November 2018
Location: Princess Hall
We all know that wines are made to be enjoyed but they are also produced with the intention of accompanying the regional cuisine where their grape varieties are grown. This is why when producing Chardonnay in the New World, the maker can create a strong and sometimes oaky flavour because it matches Pacific Rim Cuisine often flavoured with coriander, lemongrass and chili, which may overpower the nuances of a rich white Burgundy.
The evening will look at how a wine can be made to jump through hoops with different foods, before a meal which includes food that is perfectly complementary.
Peter Lunzer is one of the UK’s leading wine experts and is famous for his ability to share his encyclopaedic knowledge and amusing wine related anecdotes in a down-to-earth manner, as well as, most importantly, giving his audience the freedom and encouragement to trust their own judgement when tasting selected wines. Peter brings over 35 years of diverse experience, having spent the majority of his working life in the world of wine.
The evening of entertainment, education and networking for fathers of current and former CLC girls will start with a Champagne reception followed by a seated, three course dinner with complementary wines.
Cost: £80 per ticket.
(Please note: The slightly increased ticket price on last year is due to the excellent selection of wine which is available at this year's event.)
