Acting Housemistress: Dr Julia Harper
I have worked at College for three years and I was privileged to be involved, two years ago, in welcoming our first cohort of young women to Roderic, the newest of the Sixth Form houses. Before moving to Cheltenham, I was a tutor at Swansea University supporting students with structuring their essays, creating arguments and critical thinking, and prior to that appointment I was Head of the Inclusion Faculty at a large London comprehensive.
I have a large family and spend many happy hours during my free time visiting them all and ticking adventures off my bucket list. In Roderic we promote strong friendships, individuality and responsibility, and nurture independence. The house has a strong sense of community and is supported by a wonderful, caring house staff team.
Housemistress: Miss Helen Washbourne
I joined Cheltenham Ladies' College in 2012. I became the Housemistress of Roderic in 2014 and I also teach Biology at College.
Before moving to Cheltenham I was an assistant head of house and taught Biology in a boarding school in Norfolk.
My home is in South Wales and during the holidays I spend my time there with my fiancé Marc who runs his own installations business.
