Cambray

Housemistress: Mrs Lisa Shortland

I am delighted to have joined CLC in September 2022 as Housemistress of Cambray and am looking forward to contributing to the smooth running of a well-loved House. I have been a teacher for over 27 years and have 10 years of experience as a Houseparent and seven years as Head of Emotional Literacy and Wellbeing. I am trained as a Mental Health First Aid Instructor, have worked as a subject specialist and trainer for the PSHE Association and will be contributing to the delivery of Wellbeing alongside my role as Housemistress.

Miss Emma Allison is our Deputy Housemistress. She is a great support, deputising in my absence, and has the wellbeing and happiness of the girls at the centre of everything she does. Cambray also benefits from a dedicated team of House staff who are knowledgeable, generous with their time and effort, and always available to listen to any issues the girls may have.

We hope to maintain a relaxed and informal atmosphere that encourages the girls to make the most of the opportunities that life in Cambray offers, whilst at the same time providing the privacy and peace required for personal study.

Life in Cambray provides lots of opportunities to make new friends and is also good a preparation for student life and independent living. There is more responsibility for the girls to organise their own study time, alongside College commitments, and more choice when deciding how to spend their free time.
