Jazz Festival 2017

CLC is proud to be the strategic partner of Cheltenham Festivals supporting excellence and innovation in science and the arts.

As part of our strategic partnership, College enabled many girls to attend key festival events including Laura Mvula, see behind the scenes at the BBC Radio 2 'Friday Night is Music Night', and experience the free stage and festival atmosphere, just behind College in Montpellier Gardens. SFC1 girls were also able to hear from Helen Thomas, Network Editor at BBC Radio 2, who spoke to them about her career in music.

Forty members of the CLC community enjoyed drinks together before seeing an inspiring performance from US star Ben Folds, who later told the Festival of his passion for music education, commenting that it is "a big part of being a human and a big part of culture. You have to grow it and you have to grow kids that are educated in the arts, so that they can understand it and they can elevate society."

Other key events this year included Jack Savoretti, Will Young, Mica Paris and Gregory Porter.
