CLC Mock EU Referendum
A Referendum Debate (with a panel of outside speakers) was held in College exactly a month ahead of voting. It kick-started a considerable degree of discussion across College, among the girls but also between girls and staff. There has been a high level of engagement with this big political question.
We have had two Prayers slots in which the girls leading the Remain and the Leave campaigns had the chance to put their case. These Prayers were entirely girl-led and were balanced and well argued.
Following the successful debate, all girls and staff were invited to cast their vote in a CLC mock EU Referendum on 23rd June.
The results came in at 77% for Remain and 23% for Leave. This reflects the national trend for the 18-29 age bracket.
