Speech Day 2016
On Saturday 9th July, girls, parents and guests attended Speech Day 2016. The excellent keynote address was given by The Rt Hon Amber Rudd MP. At the time, Amber was Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change and is a Guild member, having attended College between 1974 and 1979. Amber has since been appointed as Home Secretary.
Principal Eve Jardine-Young said: “We are thrilled that Amber Rudd, a former pupil of College, has been appointed as Home Secretary. We are also delighted that she was able to join us for Speech Day where she gave an inspirational speech to girls and parents about resilience and managing the challenges of life. We wish her every success in her new role.”
Other highlights of Speech Day 2016 included a welcome from the Chairman of College Council Ms Libby Bassett, Vote of Thanks by Senior Prefect Sidney Sopher and the Principal's Address from Ms Eve Jardine-Young.
