Cricket at CLC

It has been a fantastic term thus far for cricket. We are very fortunate to have two inspirational coaches coming into College to support the PE Department in the delivery of cricket for the girls, one of whom is Lisa Pagett. Lisa is one of the highest-qualified female coaches in England and the General Manager of the Kia Super League side Western Storm. She recently returned from Sri Lanka having been interim manager of England Woman on their record-breaking tour.

Competitive cricket is thriving at CLC, with a wide range of fixtures already having taken place against other schools (and with many more to come!). This builds on the successful Lady Taverners Indoor Competitions that we hosted earlier in the Spring Term.

We have formed a new partnership with the Gloucestershire Cricket Board  (GCB) with the aim of improving links for our girls into local clubs and county performance squads. We are also working with the GCB to explore facility development and coaching courses at our wonderful Health and Fitness Centre.

This is a really exciting time for cricket at CLC, with the quality and quantity of delivery reaching new heights, and staff are already looking at ways in which we can continue this arc of progress over the coming years.
