Engineering Talk by Geoffrey Owen
Recently, a group of Upper College and Sixth Form girls had the opportunity to listen to a lifetime of anecdotes and advice from Geoffrey Owen, giving us an insight into an engineer's brain - from environmental engineering to astronomy, and stopping off at identity on the way!
Having met Geoffrey Owen before at the careers 'speed dating' event, this talk was a great opportunity for me to gain a deeper and wider understanding of the industry and Mr Owen's personal views and experiences.
Geoffrey Owen began his talk by discussing the advances and improvements he had made working on solar cells. As someone who would like to pursue a career in engineering, his talk made it clear that the profession will provide me with the constant challenge of solving complex problems.
Thank you to Mr Owen for his time and wise words, and to Mrs Mooney and the PGC for organising brilliant opportunities such as this.
