GCSE Science Live

With talks on genetics by Lord Robert Winston to time travel with Professor Jim Al Khalili, GCSE Science Live was a fantastic event.

On Monday 29th January, all our UC4 girls travelled to Bristol for the event, where they heard talks from these and other well-known scientists.

Andrea Sella, University College London, provided the excitement in the form of exploding bottles of carbon dioxide and astrophysicist Dame Maggie Aderin-Pocock, University College London (The Sky at Night, The One Show), shared her personal experiences of overcoming prejudice and dyslexia to rise to the top of her field.

Alongside these inspirational speakers were short workshops on exam technique with a senior examiner. The girls and staff had a wonderful day and left, most importantly, with many more questions than they arrived with.
