German Exchange 2019
For the past nine years, College has run a German Exchange programme with Maria Ward-Schule Mainz, Germany, and is one of the most traditional educational institutions in Mainz. The school has approximately 1,200 girls, from Year 5 to Year 13.
Each year, 14 students and two teachers come to visit us in October and CLC students visit Mainz in December. This allows the girls to experience the school, compare education systems and work on their language skills, as well getting to experience Germany at Christmas-time including a visit to the famous festive markets.
This year, the students and their exchange partners took part in a number of activities, which included visiting Bourton-on-the-Water and enjoyed a cream tea.
Below are some of the opinions from College students about the exchange visit:
"It was fun telling them about British culture and finding out all the differences, especially about the school day." - Lisette and Kitty (UC5)
"Their English was really good and they seem to know a lot of foreign languages." - Henrietta and Charlotte (UC5)
