House Music 2017

The annual House Music competition took place on Thursday 21st September, with guest Adjudicator Ms Ellie Lane, Director of Music at local school Pate’s Grammar. The standard of singing was very high, with Houses creating complex arrangements of their chosen song.

St Austin’s won Best House with their song Powerful by Empire Cast, followed closely by St Helen’s and St Margaret’s.

Sidney Lodge won the Best Accompaniment award for their song Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen, and Charlotte Cheung (UC5) won the Best Conductor Award for the St Helen’s song Flashlight by Jessie J.

Adjudicator’s Prizes went to Glenlee for Maya Chawla’s (UC5) guitar solo, St Margaret’s for Holly Dhillon’s (UC5) drum solo, Glengar for the expression in their performance, and Farnley Lodge for the quality of the orchestral playing.
