'Issues in International Trade' talk

On Wednesday 26th June, Andrew Morgan from Global 78 delivered a talk to SFC1 pupils about 'Issues in International Trade'.

He spoke about the transport revolution in the agribusiness world. It was interesting to hear about the process of supply chain management, including production, transport, warehousing and inventory, which allows us to import and export goods. We also learnt that the extended supply chain may occur across different countries, and Mr Morgan spoke about the problems associated with this and the possible implications of Brexit. For example, Brexit may impact the time it takes for goods to pass through border control due to regulations surrounding security and environmental health. Currently, this process is fairly simple, with only a passport check in place.

Questions were asked by the audience on sustainability issues which have arisen from the transport revolution, and possible solutions to Brexit-related issues.
