LC2 Trip to the Globe Theatre
On Tuesday 3rd July, the whole of LC2 went into deepest Winter, despite the high temperatures across the country, as 69 girls visited the Globe Theatre to watch The Winter’s Tale.
Like Shakespeare’s own audience they stood throughout the performance, with the actors only inches in front of them. It was a lively performance with the action occasionally spilling off-stage into the audience and, although the girls were not familiar with the play, they followed the action well.
To add to the cultural experience we also made a brief visit to the Tate Modern, where the girls were impressed to see three huge op art canvases painted by Guild member, Bridget Riley, within a collection of work by leading modern artists.
