Lower College Celebration of Sport
We had a wonderful evening on Friday 28th June, with LC1, LC2 and LC3 girls and approximately 100 parents gathering together for the Lower College Celebration of Sport.
We were blessed with fantastic weather for reception drinks with parents, and the girls' spirits were high following the earlier Wellbeing Party.
The evening was a fantastic celebration of all things sport, with lots of fun and games, and girls being recognised for their effort, commitment and achievements.
We were also incredibly privileged to be joined for the evening by Dr Anna Watkins MBE - a double Olympic medal-winning rower, who memorably won a gold medal at London 2012 in the double sculls with Kath Grainger. A Cambridge University alum, she also has a PhD in Mathematics. She was an inspiration and a truly warm, friendly and humble person. She even (bravely) handed her medals out to the audience to be passed around through the evening.
We have had wonderful feedback from so many parents who were there - they said the evening was brilliant and they were particularly impressed with Dr Anna Watkins' message to the girls.
