Maths Challenge Success

During the week of 4th March, teams from College took part in regional Maths Challenges with great success.

Intermediate Team Maths Challenge

Liese, Cecily, Tiffany and Vanessa (LC2 and LC3) competed in the regional round of the UKMT Intermediate Team Maths Challenge. They worked together very positively as a team and were fiercely competitive!

After four rounds of tricky problem solving they were the highest scoring team and were presented with their first place certificates at the end of the day.

The girls will now go on to represent Gloucestershire in the UKMT National Team Challenge Finals which will be held in London in June.

Year 10 Maths Feast

Eight UC4 girls competed in the Maths Feast competition organised by the Advanced Mathematics Support Programme. The two teams of four were up against 13 other teams from schools across the area, and the CLC teams took equal first place (with Pate's) and third place.

Congratulations to Valerie, Jenny, Kaitlyn, Pearl, Charlene, Irene, Stephanie and Jocelyn for their hard work on the day, and to Jasmine, Sunny, Ashley and Larissa who were part of the wider team who attended training in the run up to the event.
