PGC: Civil Engineering Talk

On Monday 11th November, we had the opportunity to have Guild member Sarah Tallett-Williams, an inspiring civil engineer, share her incredible experiences and her passion for geophysics. From constructing life-changing community projects in El Salvador, to collaborating with other engineers on improving the aftermath of the 2015 earthquake in Nepal using geophysics equipment, she truly sparked our imagination and encouraged us to think critically of about these global issues.

Sarah also highlighted the importance of the invisible yet essential structure and foundation that is below the ground which supports and enables the world to thrive above the surface, and explained the fascinating science behind it all.

I am extremely grateful to Sarah, who took the time to return to College. Her talk gave us many valuable ideas in this productive discussion.
