HOCKEY

Congratulations to the U13 hockey team who qualified through to the West finals, beating Katherine Lady Berkeley's, St Peter's, Pate's Grammar and Rednock School. An impressive display of skills, tactical awareness and competitive spirit led to a place in the final. Good luck in the next stage of the competition.

CROSS COUNTRY

Congratulations to the six CLC cross country runners who qualified to compete for the Cheltenham and District team at the Gloucestershire County Championships on Saturday 10th December.

Despite leaving College on the last day of term in mild and dry weather, they had to race in wet and slippy conditions. However, all of the girls ran strongly and paced themselves well. The seniors completed their 3.8km course without any problems. Sofiya Apsit, in just her second race, ran well to finish in 10th place. Paige Bruton was just ahead in 8th and Vicky Shaw was our first runner home in 5th. Both Vicky and Paige have qualified to represent Gloucestershire at the next fixture and should be very proud to have earned their senior County vest.

In the intermediate race, Amy Hine moved steadily through the field to come home in 24th place. Paige Bruton had a tough race in the junior age group after a fall. Nevertheless, she fought back strongly to finish in 21st place. Abbi Hulett, who was competing at her first County Championships in the minors age group, also finished in 24th place. Well done to all the runners on a great finish to the Autumn Term.
