COUNTY SELECTION FOR CROSS COUNTRY RUNNERS

Vicky Shaw, Paige Bruton and Sofiya Apsit gained their Gloucestershire U20 County vests on Sunday, competing for Gloucestershire at the Inter-Counties Cross Challenge Cross Country fixture in Cardiff. Vicky was placed 35th overall and was the 8th runner home for Gloucestershire, Paige was placed 38th overall and was the 9th runner home for Gloucestershire, and Sofiya was placed 47th and was the 13th runner home for Gloucestershire. All athletes enjoyed the experience that they gained from running at this premier cross country event. This is the second year that Vicky has competed as an U20 athlete for Gloucestershire, while Paige and Sofiya earned their first County representation. Congratulations to all three girls.

HOCKEY

Congratulations to Maddie Peel who captained the U16 Clifton Hockey club team at the National Indoor Championships in Wolverhampton. There is no doubt that Maddie gained valuable experience throughout the qualification and finals.

England Hockey have launched a restructure of their previously named Single System and rebranded it the Player Pathway. The following girls have been selected for the Performance Centre:

U15 - Olivia Freer and Rebecca Todd
U17 - Maddie Peel, Rachel Fraser and Mollie D'Arcy-Rice

They will embark on an intense training programme under the watchful eye of the selectors for the next phase of the pathway. We wish the girls all the best as they continue to strive to reach the top of their game.
