Fencing

Izzy, Elspeth, and Christy took part in the British Schools Team Fencing Championships, U15 Girls foil held at the Royal Masonic School for girls in Rickmansworth.

The standard was very high and the three girls fought very well, winning comfortably against City of London, 45 : 33, and narrowly against Guilford B 45 : 43. In a match where the lead continually swapped between the two teams, they narrowly lost against the eventual winners 40 : 45 Guilford A, coming so close to the gold.

The girls very much deserved their silver medal position.

Rowing

On Friday 22nd June, the CLC junior 16 quadruple scull travelled to Henley for the prestigious Henley Women's Regatta. The crew of Evie, Katherine, Alex and Emily raced hard in the time trial on Friday evening to try and finish in the top eight and qualify for the quarter finals the next day.

They were happy with their performance and were rewarded with a top eight placing, the best result CLC has ever achieved at this event.

On the Saturday, our crew faced the experienced Headington School crew and, despite all their efforts and a very good performance, could not quite match their pace.

Congratulations to the crew and thanks to all families and friends who were there to offer vital support.

Skiing - The 'CLC Championship'

The 'CLC Champs' was a wonderful finale to another fantastic term of skiing. The girls were able to do some drills to warm-up followed by a course inspection and then several practice runs of the course.

The girls were timed over three slalom runs, with their best two runs counting to their final position. There was time to finish with a very exciting team dual slalom and some fun individual 'head to head' battles.

Congratulations to everyone on their great performances and in particular to the newest members of the team who have made huge progress.
