Congratulations to the U12, U13 and U14 CLC Cricket Teams who all came through close games to win three matches against King's School, Gloucester on Saturday 22nd June.

The U12s won by 10 runs with standout performances from Eloise and Maayan. The U13s won by 28 runs with Sophie and Bella performing well.

The U14s played their first Twenty20 format of the game and managed to win on the last ball, with King's needing one run to tie or two to win. Georgia stepped up and clean bowled their batter to win the game for CLC. Outstanding performances all-round but special mention to Georgia and our fantastic captain Jasmine.

Congratulations also go to Aimee, who has been selected for Hampshire Cricket Board's Vipers Champions programme this year as a Bronze Champion.

This innovative training programme involves coaching, scoring and umpiring, building experience and confidence in all three of these disciplines.

At the end of the programme, participants help at Club and Regional Performance Centre sessions, and score and umpire junior matches.

On Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd June, five CLC rowers competed at the prestigious Women's Henley Regatta.

Evie and Katherine teamed up in the Junior 18 Doubles, as did Za and Alex, with Emily competing in the Junior 18 Singles event.

Competition was fierce with only 16 crews qualifying for each of the events. Unfortunately, Emily didn’t make the top 16, but both double sculls crews qualified and went through to the one-on-one racing to follow.

Za and Alex produced their best-ever performance but weren’t quite strong enough to beat the crew from St George's College, whereas Evie and Katherine sculled really well and beat their opposition from Walbrook Rowing Club by a significant margin. They progressed to the quarter-final where they faced stiffer competition and lost by a small margin to Sir William Perkin's School who went on to beat an American crew in the final to win the event.

We are very proud of the achievement of all of these crews.

Congratulations to all of the athletes who competed in the Ennis Cup Multi-Event Competition on Saturday 22nd June. Alex H came 3rd with 41 points, Alex D came 2nd with 52 points and the 2019 winner was Jess with 56 points.
