Sports News - November 2016

SWIMMING

After a great team performance at the Regional Team Championships the senior quartet of Rosealeen Lo, Sophie Tebbs, Izzy Crofts and Trinity Donohugh qualified for the second consecutive year for the National Team Championships. The foursome are hugely excited to be racing again at the London Olympic Pool and we wish them well for their race on Saturday 19th November.

LACROSSE

Congratulations to the 40 girls, from LC3 to SFC2, who represented Gloucestershire and Worcestershire in the South West Counties Tournament at Sherborne Dorset.

EQUESTRIAN

The College Equestrian team will be represented by Lily Rosenfeld (UC4), Amy Hine (UC5) and Scarlett Paton (LC3) who are competing at Addington Manor on November 12th. This will be a show jumping qualifier for entry to the Royal Windsor Horse Show (in May). As last year saw the introduction of a qualifying system for Windsor the competition will be fierce and we wish them all the best of luck.

FENCING

Congratulations to Elspeth Charles-Jones (LC3) on finishing runner up in the U14 age group foil event at the Sherborne Junior Fencing Tournament.

NETBALL

Felicity Elvidge (UC5) is an associate affiliate to Team Bath U19 Netball team this season, as well as a regional academy player. She has just trialled and been selected for the new superleague NPL (National Premier League) Severn Stars team based in Worcester and Gloucestershire.

At only 15 years old, this is a phenomenal achievement and we are so proud of her achievements. Felicity will be coached by some of the top Australian and English coaches in the game and we look forward to following her achievements this season.

HOCKEY

The girls took part in a very successful Prep Schools Hockey Tournament on Saturday 5th November, organised by our Head of Hockey, Mrs McNulty. A record 28 teams took part in the tournament, a total of 280 girls! CLC teams were involved in both age groups.

Both of our teams played some great hockey and had a mixed set of results. The Under 13s had good wins over Bristol Grammar School and Wycliffe Prep.
