Sports news: September
The CLC Badminton Team played their first fixture of the year against Bloxham School. Twenty CLC girls played lots of matches throughout the afternoon, winning 26-16.
Charlie (SFC2) had a fantastic weekend at the British Dressage National Championships, finishing in 6th place in the Advanced Medium Open Class.
CLC hosted the National Schools Equestrian Association (NSEA) event at Rectory Farm on 14th and 15th September. It was a fantastic day in beautiful weather. Well done to all the CLC riders. (Please note: photos from this event are available to purchase via Zenfolio.)
There is a fantastic buzz around our hockey squads, and so far this season they have put in some great performances against Colston's School and The King's School, Gloucester. All teams have had the focus of pressing and working hard to win the ball back and then passing the ball quickly to exploit space.
The lacrosse season has started well for all CLC teams; we have been involved in a number of tournaments, and some home and away fixtures verses Godolphin School. The teams are all adapting to the new rules and are working hard, showing determination, fantastic perseverance and teamwork.
The U18 and U16 Netball Teams have made positive starts to the season both with victories over Woldingham School.
On Sunday 15th September, CLC took four strong teams to the English Schools' Ski Association (ESSKIA) regional races: an U18 Team, two U16 Teams, and an U14 Team.
The U18 and U14 Teams have qualified for the National Finals event at Norwich this weekend.
Congratulations to Poppy (UC5) who is the new Junior Target Sprint British Women's Champion, having broken the GB record at the British Championships last weekend.
