Student accepted for National Youth Theatre

Every year, the National Youth Theatre (NYT), a world-leading youth arts organisation, holds acting auditions and technical theatre interviews around the United Kingdom; there are over 4,500 applicants and around 500 places are offered.

I was delighted that Daisy auditioned and has been awarded a well-deserved place on the NYT Acting Course. She dug deep, pushed herself out of her comfort zone, rose to the challenge and made her ambition a reality.

Miss T M L Black, Teacher of Speech & Drama

During the October half-term, I participated in an ‘audition masterclass’ run by the National Youth Theatre (NYT). This gave me the opportunity to stretch and develop my performance skills. In the actual audition, I performed a monologue from Many Moons by Alice Birch, a series of monologues where the four main characters share their attitudes about love.

The day was thrilling, exciting and nerve-racking! In the morning we took part in a workshop full of group activities - great fun, and a great ice-breaker! The afternoon was slightly scarier and held the actual performance and interview.

To be a member of the NYT has always been my ambition! Therefore I am excited that I have been accepted and look forward to all the experiences that the NYT has to offer.
