Work at CLC

At Cheltenham Ladies’ College, we don’t just educate students, we shape fearless futures.

Every day this takes a community of people who are curious, committed and ambitious for young people. Whether in the classroom, in our boarding houses or behind the scenes, every role here contributes to an environment where students are challenged, supported and inspired to become who they are meant to be.

With around 600 staff supporting a vibrant, global community of girls aged 11–18, CLC is a place where your work has meaning, and your contribution is felt every day.

Teaching at CLC

Teaching at College is academically ambitious, but it is also about much more than exam results. Our teachers spark curiosity, challenge thinking and create classrooms where ideas are explored with confidence. With small classes, engaged pupils and a culture of mutual respect, teaching here is both intellectually stimulating and deeply rewarding.

Pastoral roles

Pastoral care sits at the heart of College life.

Our boarding and day houses are more than accommodation, they are homes. Places where our students feel known, supported and able to grow in confidence and independence.

Working in a House means becoming part of a close-knit team, guiding and supporting students day-to-day, and playing a vital role in their wellbeing, development and sense of belonging.

Support staff roles

A great school relies on far more than what happens in the classroom.

From admissions to IT, catering to marketing, estates to finance, our support staff keep College running - and evolving. With a wide range of professional opportunities, many of our roles suit those from both education and commercial backgrounds.

Whatever your expertise, you’ll be part of a collaborative community working towards a shared purpose.

No - a significant number of our teaching, pastoral and support staff have never worked in an independent or boarding school. Many teachers have previously worked in the state sector, and most of our support staff have never worked in a school at all. We genuinely welcome applications from all backgrounds.
