Discover the possibilities

We believe in giving students the freedom to discover their passions. Students are encouraged to challenge themselves, to explore a wide range interests, and to make the most of every day.

From volunteering and weekend activities, to co-curricular clubs that span sports, the arts and everything in between, we nurture a school where opportunity is endless.

Our vibrant Day and Boarding community, along with our strong pastoral support system, creates an strong community where students are not afraid to make mistakes and try new things, empowering them approach opportunities with courage and curiosity.

CO-CURRICULAR

At CLC, we know education is broader than the confines of a classroom.

With over 150 co-curricular clubs on offer, our younger pupils are encouraged to make the most of any opportunity that inspires them, while older students often create and run their own clubs, or take up key leadership roles. All students are fully supported in striking a successful balance of academic and co-curricular activity that allows them to thrive.

For the last five years, CLC has been named Best Independent School in the South West by The Sunday Times.

Around 20% of students are day pupils. We proud of our strong connections to Cheltenham, our local community, and our empowering community of young women.

Our boarding Houses are a home-from-home; a sanctuary to eat, sleep, play, study and relax.

There is a strong camaraderie and family, with a fierce house spirit which manifests proudly and noisily at House competitions of all kinds.

VOLUNTEERING

& FUNDRAISING

Community is at the heart of our approach. It’s difficult to appreciate the world unless you immerse yourself in the task of making it a better place. This is a commitment that we take seriously, from thousands of hours of volunteering each year through our Community Links Programme to our nominated charities and our legacy charity, St Hilda's East.

Volunteering and fundraising aren’t just extras, they are central to what we do.

I always say I have the best role at school, I get to see all the girls with passion and agency organize incredible charity events and learn a whole lot about themselves on the way.

Wellbeing and academic success go hand-in-hand at CLC.

Our interlocking layers of pastoral support, 24-hour medical centre, and extensive Wellbeing Programme, prepare students for happy, healthy and meaningful lives, now and in the future.

Weekends at CLC are just as important as time spent in lessons.

They are full of fun and friendships, relaxation and creativity, curiosity and building confidence outside the classroom.
