Support for Sudden School Closures

Support for Sudden School Closures

Information for families impacted by unexpected closures

CLC are saddened to hear news of schools in difficult positions and facing closure. We send our best wishes to parents, pupils, staff and all who are affected.

CLC would like to offer the following support processes for girls and their parents should they be facing disruption to their learning journey.

How we can support you

Contact us to arrange a 1-2-1 call with a member of the Admissions team or the relevant Head of Division to discuss your daughter’s position and what we may be able to do to support.

For pupils about to enter Year 11 or Year 13, we understand that this might be a particularly worrying time, as you consider how your daughter can continue her education as seamlessly as possible. We will look at your daughter’s GCSE or A Level pathway and consider how we might be able to support her. If you would like to make an appointment for a 1-2-1 discussion with one of our senior Academic team or the Director of Admissions to discuss the alignment of our exam boards, please email admissions@cheltladiescollege.org.

Attend our next Open Event to meet key members of staff (Academic, Pastoral, Day, Boarding and Co-curricular), tour the campus and Houses and speak directly with the Admissions team about possible next steps.

Common Questions

Contact our Admissions team so we can arrange a discussion with our Admissions Director, Mr Richard Houchin, and relevant members of the Academic team.

In the first instance, we recommend you contact our Admissions team for a discussion so that we can understand your individual situation. We can then ensure that we have the relevant members of Academic staff on hand to address concerns and queries, and confirm any admissions requirements.

We are looking to make any transition as seamless and easy to navigate as possible. Each application will be treated with the care and detail it deserves.

As a starting point, it would be useful to have the last two reports your daughter has received, as well as any baseline data/testing outcomes (such as ALIS/MidYIS/Yellis) to hand.

Please do contact us at each year point, and we will discuss that with you during our online or in-person meeting.

CLC prides itself on its inclusive and friendly community and we hope that, if you are able to visit us, you and your daughter will be reassured by meeting our pupils and staff. If a face-to-face visit is not possible, we are happy to arrange online meetings with relevant members of the team.

We have an extensive pastoral support network in place and regularly welcome pupils across all year groups at different points of the school year.

A good starting point is to explore our website to get more of a sense of life at CLC.

Scholarships are honorary and carry no financial reward. However, we would look, where appropriate to award these highly prestigious accolades to deserving applicants.

CLC Prides itself on supporting families and pupils by way of means-tested Bursaries named in honour of former Headmistress, Dorothea Beale. If you are presently in receipt of means-tested support, please contact us to discuss further.
