Our Facilities

Our Facilities

Our CLC estate balances heritage and innovation, from our beautifully maintained 1800s buildings to the contemporary architecture of our Health and Fitness Centre and Parabola Arts Centre.

We continue to invest in upgrades that enhance our pupils’ experience, creating an environment where they can thrive.

Coming Soon - New Sixth Form Centre

Our new world-leading Sixth Form Centre development is due to open next academic year! The new centre will promote intellectual excellence and wellbeing for all our Sixth Form students, through an inclusive and accessible environment, that is supported by world-class teaching facilities and prepares our students for university, work and life.

Health and Fitness Centre

Opened in 2018, the centre includes two sports halls, a climbing wall, a refurbished 25m swimming pool, a multi-purpose activity studio, a dance studio, five squash courts and a 58-station fitness gym with free weights, spin, rowing and erg areas. Netball and Tennis are taught on site, which has 17 courts.

The Princess Hall

The Princess Hall has been an iconic location for many generations of CLC pupils. Here we host morning Prayers (assemblies), music concerts, Speech Days, talks and presentations with external speakers, conferences and events throughout the year.

Parabola Arts Centre

Opened in 2009, our theatre has a capacity of over 300 and is an excellent space for drama and dance performances, conferences and debates. It is well-used by both our pupils and visiting speakers and theatre companies, as well as being a key venue for the Cheltenham Festivals. There is also a dance studio, dressing rooms and a foyer, which houses the box office, bar and an art gallery.

Council Room and Marble Corridor

Built in the 1800s, the Council Room, with a high vaulted ceiling and stained glass window, and the iconic Marble Corridor are testaments to College's second Principal, Dorothea Beale, and her belief that beautiful surroundings influenced the education, development and enrichment of pupils’ learning.

The Libraries

There are two libraries at College - the Main Library, which holds more than 23,000 books and provides a range of spaces for private study, and the Lower College Library, which offers a 9,000‑item collection tailored to younger learners. Together, their traditional environments and extensive print collections are complemented by modern facilities and a wide range of digital resources.

The Library Services Team supports students with expert guidance, fostering a culture where girls are encouraged to think critically, read widely, and develop strong research and study skills.

Art and Technology Block

Opened in 1998, the Fauconberg Wing houses our art, technology and engineering facilities, including dedicated studio and exhibition spaces, facilities for sculpture, a large printmaking studio, textiles rooms, MAC suite, art library, traditional photography darkroom, and 3D printer.

Music and Drama Facilities

Our Music and Drama facilities span our Parabola Arts Centre and our main College site. As well as the main theatre featured above, other facilities include a black box theatre, soundproofed music practice rooms, and a dedicated recording studio.

Houses

Our Boarding and Day Houses are a home from home for many students. We have a rolling programme of upgrades and renovations, and each House is unique in its style, layout and community. All the Houses have shared spaces, such as dining and living rooms, as well as music practice rooms.

Outdoor Spaces

Our gardens at College are beautiful spaces for the girls to study and relax, especially during the Spring and Summer Terms. They include the QEII Quad, complete with a small amphitheatre, and the main and top gardens.

Digital Provision

CLC Digital Devices provide students with a two‑in‑one device that supports digital inking, multimedia use, Teams and OneNote.

Devices are monitored, allowing us to manage app installations, apply content filtering, and maintain consistent hardware and software. Standardisation ensures smooth lessons, better support, and quick replacement if needed. This approach embeds technology seamlessly into learning and equips pupils with skills for an evolving digital world.
