MS LIBBY BASSETT
CHAIRMAN OF COUNCIL
Libby retired as a Partner of KPMG in the UK in 2015. She now works as an independent consultant for three professional services companies including KPMG. Libby is a qualified Chartered Accountant and has held a number of global business development roles throughout her career with KPMG.
Libby obtained her MA from the University of Cambridge. She was elected to Council in 2011, and is a former pupil. As well as being Chairman of Council, Libby is a member of the Finance and Executive Committee, the Land and Buildings Committee and the Nominations Committee.
MR ROBERT LEECHMAN
VICE CHAIRMAN OF COUNCIL
Robert is a plural non-executive director, and also Executive Chairman of Promise Gluten Free, a private equity backed Irish bread company. He previously held senior positions at The Coca-Cola Company and Mars Confectionery.
Robert graduated with a BA Hons in Modern History from Magdalen College, Oxford. Robert was elected to Council in 2011. In addition to being Vice Chairman of Council and Chairman of the Land and Buildings Committee, he also sits on the Finance and Executive Committee and the Nominations Committee. Robert is a former parent.
Ms Sally Boyle
Chairman of Nominations Committee
Sally is a Partner and International Head of Human Capital Management for Goldman Sachs International, having previously been a partner in employment law at a national law firm.
Sally is a former pupil and holds a degree from the University of Cambridge, and postgraduate qualifications from the College of Law, London and University of Leicester. She was elected to Council 2010 and is Chairman of the Nominations Committee.
Mr Gerard Evans
Nominated Safeguarding Council Member
Gerard left Eton College in the summer of 2017, having worked there for over twenty years. From 2009 to 2017 he was Director of Curriculum, supervising the co-curriculum as well as the academic side of the school. Previously he had been Head of Modern Languages and Universities Officer. He is currently exploring new professional opportunities within education. Prior to his career in teaching, he worked for eight years in the insurance industry.
Gerard holds an MA from the University of Oxford. He was elected to Council in 2012, and is Vice Chairman of the Nominations Committee. Gerard is also the Nominated Safeguarding Council Member.
Mrs Mary Henderson
Staff Representative Member of Council
Mary is the Staff Nominated Member on Council, and the link Council Member for newly qualified teachers. She retired in 2012 after 13 years as Headmistress of Westonbirt School, where she had previously been Head of Modern Languages. Prior to her move to Westonbirt, Mary taught at Warminster School and was a teacher and housemistress at College.
Mary holds an MA in Modern Languages from the University of St Andrews and a PGCE from Durham University. She was elected to Council in 2013, and is a member of the Audit and Risk Committee.
Mr Michael Liu
Michael has served in a number of elected and appointed positions in professional, regulatory and education establishments in Hong Kong. He recently retired from legal practice, having practiced for over 30 years in Hong Kong and London.
Michael holds a Law degree from the London School of Economics. He was elected to Council in 2011, and is a former parent. Michael sits on the Finance and Executive Committee.
Mrs Clare Moulder
Clare is a Judge and a former Partner of international law firm Linklaters.
Clare holds a Law degree from Clare College, Cambridge. She is a former pupil and two of her children also attended College. Clare was elected to Council in 2016, and sits on the Finance and Executive Committee.
Mr David Pittaway QC
David is a practising barrister who has held a number senior positions in the legal profession. He is the Reader of the Inner Temple in 2016. He is a past chairman of the Bar Council’s Education and Training Committee and Social Mobility Committee. He is a former member of Alan Milburn’s Working Party on Access to the Professions. He is a former trustee of the National Education Trust.
David has an MA from the University of Cambridge. He was elected to Council in 2012 and is a member of the Development Sub-Committee.
Miss Sara Putt
For over 25 years Sara has owned and run an agency for technicians and production personnel working in film and television. Prior to that she worked in BBC radio and as a production manager in television.
Sara read history at St Hugh’s College, Oxford, and has subsequently gained a Graduate Diploma from the University of Law. Sara sits on the BAFTA TV Committee, the BAFTA Board, and chairs the BAFTA Learning and New Talent Committee. Additionally, she is Deputy Chair of Women in Film and TV. Sara is a former pupil. Elected to Council in 2016, Sara is a member of the Development Sub-Committee.
Mrs Alison Ravano
Alison has a background in fundraising and event organising, having worked with several international charities and independent schools. Prior to this, she worked in investment banking, specialising in the corporate finance of US firms.
Alison holds a BBA and an MBA from the University of Houston and is a trustee of the Cheetah Conservation Fund UK. She was elected to Council in 2010 and is a member of the Nominations Committee. Alison is also a former parent.
Mrs Katie Robyns
Guild Representative Member of Council
Katie is the Guild Nominated Member on Council, and a former Chairman of Guild. She is a qualified Barrister and is a Company Secretary. She has been heavily involved with fundraising and development for schools for many years.
Katie obtained her LLB from the University of Birmingham. She was elected to Council 2012, and is a member of the Finance and Executive Committee and of the Land and Buildings Committee, as well as a member of the Development Sub-Committee.
Mr Kevin Senior
Kevin is a former Partner in an international accountancy firm. He is currently a trustee of various charities and holds directorships in several companies. Additionally he is vice chair of a local civic society, Honorary Treasurer to Art Fund Oxfordshire and a Young Enterprise Business Advisor. He is a former member of the Southern Electricity Consumers Council.
Kevin gained a LLB from the University of Exeter and qualified as a Chartered Accountant. He was elected to Council in 2013. As well as being Chairman of the Development Sub-Committee, Kevin is also a member of the Finance and Executive Committee and the Investment Sub-Committee.
Mrs Louise Terry
Louise is a corporate communications specialist who has spent her career managing the reputations of some of the world’s leading businesses. She was a Director at Hill and Knowlton before becoming Head of Communications for Coca-Cola and then Group Communications Director of L’Oréal UK, where she ran the L'Oréal Unesco For Women in Science programme.
For ten years, Louise was Deputy Chair of Save the Children. She works as a consultant to businesses, most recently Unilever. She is also Deputy Chair of the Royal Institution.
Louise holds an MA in Modern Languages from the University of Cambridge. She is a former pupil of College and her two daughters are also Guild members. She joined Council in 2011, and is a member of the Finance and Executive Committee and the Development Sub-Committee.
Mrs Su-Mei Thompson
Su-Mei is CEO of Media Trust, a not-for-profit organisation in the UK. She was previously CEO of The Women’s Foundation and a board member of the Equal Opportunities Commission in Hong Kong. Her role as an advocate for women’s advancement has been recognised through numerous awards. Su-Mei started her career as a corporate lawyer at Linkaters and went on to hold senior management positions at The Walt Disney Company, the Financial Times and Christie’s in Asia.
Su-Mei holds MAs in Law from the University of Cambridge and the University of Oxford and an MBA from IMD in Lausanne, where she was the first woman to graduate on the Dean’s List.
A former pupil, Head of House and College Prefect, Su-Mei was elected to Council in 2013. She is also a current parent.
Dr Valerie Udale
Chairman of Audit and Risk Committee and Council Health and Safety link
Valerie initially followed a career in corporate finance and later trained as a teacher. She currently enjoys a range of professional interests from financial modelling consultancy and delivering corporate finance training, to teaching mathematics.
Valerie holds a DPhil in Developmental Neurobiology from the University of Oxford, a degree in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge, a PGCE from the University of Gloucestershire and a BSc in Mathematics from the Open University.
Valerie was elected to Council in 2012. As well as being Chairman of the Audit and Risk Committee, she is a member of the Land and Buildings Committee and is the Health and Safety Link Council Member. Valerie is a current parent.
Mrs Fiona Weldin
Support Staff Representative
Fiona has worked in independent schools for 26 years. At College her posts included Head of Sixth Form, and Deputy Head, Admissions and Communications, as well as previous roles teaching English and as a housemistress. Fiona is currently Director of School Relationships with the Springboard Bursary Foundation.
Fiona is a former parent and was elected to Council in 2015. She is a member of the Audit and Risk Committee, as well as being the SEND Link Council Member.
Mrs Dilys Williams
Chairman of the Finance and Executive Committee and the Investments Sub-Committee
Dilys is an independent business adviser and consultant, having previously held positions as a partner and director in a national accountancy practice. She is a Chartered Accountant.
A former pupil, Dilys holds a Classics degree from the University of Cambridge. She was elected to Council in 2011 and is Chairman of both the Finance and Executive Committee and the Investments Sub-Committee.
Mrs Louise Williamson
Louise is a director of a multi-national facilities management company and has previously held directorships in several construction firms. She is a Chartered Engineer, a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers and a Member of the British Institution of Facilities Management.
Louise gained her degree in Civil Engineering from City University, London and later completed the Business Leaders Programme at Cranfield School of Management. She was elected to Council in 2009. Louise serves on the Audit and Risk Committee and the Land and Buildings Committee.
