“Reading is the key that opens doors to many good things in life. Reading shaped my dreams, and more reading helped me make my dreams come true.” - Ruth Bader Ginsburg

The College Libraries reflect CLC’s commitment to academic excellence, inspiration, and enrichment. We pride ourselves in serving the whole College community in our joint aim to deliver a world-class, holistic education to our students.

The traditional environment and extensive print collections are enhanced by modern facilities and a vast selection of digital resources. Our collections are available to all the College community and serve academic study, as well as personal interest, current affairs, and reading for pleasure.

There are separate library spaces for Lower College pupils and students in Upper and Sixth Form College. These study areas are popular with both students and staff, who have a choice of silent and quiet workspaces in which to read, research, study, or collaborate.

Full-time, professional librarians support our students in these libraries, providing expert advice on reading and research, as well as critical thinking and academic best practice. They support teaching departments with resources and hands-on library lessons across the year-groups and subject areas.

Additionally, the Library Services team support the co-curricular programme, running clubs and special events, as well as leading on College-wide activities, such as Reading Weeks, World Book Day, and a variety of fun, literature-based challenges and competitions.
