Lower College

Girls joining us in Lower College are welcomed into a vibrant and happy community. During this important period of their education, encompassing Years 7 - 9 (LC1, LC2 and LC3), pupils are encouraged to make the most of opportunities to try a broad range of subjects and experiences, develop friendships, and immerse themselves in a community of ambitious young women.

Wellbeing and academic progress is overseen by the Head of Lower College, along with other key members of staff. Girls also receive excellent support from their Tutors, Housemistresses and teachers.

Our broad Lower College curriculum offers pupils enrichment in their learning and aims to inspire each girl to explore her individual interests and develop her creativity. Girls study Maths, English, separate Sciences (Biology, Chemistry and Physics), Computing, Humanities (History, Geography, RS and Classics) and at least two Modern Foreign Languages during Lower College.

The Arts are a fundamental part of College life, with Music, Drama, Art and Design, and Engineering, Enterprise and Technology (EET) also studied.

In Lower College, pupils enjoy a wealth of experiences and opportunities, including a range of co-curricular clubs and activities, which provide girls with a stimulating and extensive programme of study, laying valuable foundations for the GCSE years and beyond.
