Chemistry Race 2026

On Saturday 7th February, five SFC chemists travelled to Rugby School to take part in the sixth annual Chemistry Race - an exciting opportunity to put their far beyond A Level / IB chemistry skills to the test.

The team of Isabella, Anna, Sissi, Jenny and Marta thoroughly enjoyed tackling the challenging problems together, learning new techniques, and discovering how to apply their chemistry knowledge in unfamiliar situations.

The fast-paced format and collaborative problem‑solving added unique dimensions to the competition. Although a podium place eluded them on the day, the students were proud of their performance and delighted to have taken part, especially as the questions were tough enough to make even the best chemists’ heads hurt!
