Support CLC’s Head of College to raise funds for St Hilda’s East
Our Head of College, Mrs Jemima Edney, will be running the London Marathon on 26th April to fundraise for our incredible charity partner St Hilda’s East (SHE).
St Hilda’s East is a community centre in East London, founded in 1889 by the Guild (alumnae) of Cheltenham Ladies’ College. Mrs Edney has taken on the challenge of running the London Marathon and raising at least £2,000 to help fund vital community programmes in Tower Hamlets.
To support Mrs Edney and St Hilda’s East, we are also hosting a CLC-SHE marathon event at school on Saturday 25th April. Girls and staff will be running 112 miles, which is equivalent to the distance from CLC to St Hilda’s East, running in relay around the College grounds. This will be a House competition, and the House which accumulates the most miles will win the St Hilda’s East CLC Cup.
More information about the CLC-SHE marathon and Mrs Edney’s London Marathon fundraising will follow in the coming weeks, with opportunities for parents, guardians, alumnae and other members of the community to sponsor the pupils and support Mrs Edney.
To find out more about the amazing relationship between pupils, staff and SHE, you can listen to our latest podcast.

The Ambassador Scheme - what a fantastic idea that was. It's just lovely to hear all the amazing ideas the students come up with, and see their work to turn them into something real.

Looking ahead to Giving Day 2026
One of our key goals during Giving Day 2025 was to raise funds to support the continued delivery of our Social Action, Partnership and Community programmes.
This included areas such as our St Hilda’s East Ambassador Scheme, which has seen pupils organise drives to help to tackle period poverty and a journaling project to support mental health and wellbeing.
Other key SHE-CLC projects include our joint art exhibitions, previously on the theme of ‘Community’ with The Brave Girls group and, this year, an ‘In bloom’ project between LC3 and UC4 pupils and the Well Women’s group (Friday 4th April, Parabola Arts Centre).
Giving Day 2026 will take place on 17th and 18th June and will again help to raise funds for key projects at CLC, including bursaries and wider estate development, specifically projects in the new Sixth Form Centre and across the College estate.
The new Sixth Form Centre will include integrated community service spaces and creative outreach hubs, which will help students translate their learning, volunteering and community work into meaningful, real-world impact.
We can’t wait to share more about Giving Day 2026 in the coming months.
