Although most students join College at Year 7, Year 9 or Sixth Form, we occasionally welcome new day pupils into UC4 (Year 10 / 14+). New day girls join our Junior Day House and study approximately 10 subjects for their GCSEs at the end of Year 11. All pupils have access to specialist Upper College tutors to help them settle in and mentor them throughout this vital period in their College life.
If you're interested in visiting us, please see our Visits & Open Days page for more details on how to book.
From a global education on your doorstep and over 100 co-curricular activities to 7am-7pm wraparound care and easy bus routes across the region, find out why our day students and their families love being part of the CLC community.

In December of Year 9, candidates for UC4 will be invited to attend a virtual interview.
We appreciate that pupils will join us with a range of different backgrounds and experiences, and therefore we do not expect perfect knowledge. Instead we're looking for the skills to succeed, the passion to make a difference and the enthusiasm get involved in everything College has to offer.
Candidates for 2026 who are successful at interview will be invited to attend our assessment day at CLC on 21st January 2026, where they will be assessed in English, Maths, Science and a Modern Foreign Language of their choice (for example, Spanish, French or Italian).
We do not provide briefing papers as we want pupils to demonstrate their true abilities and potential and not to be tutored to a test. However, we understand that guidance can be helpful, and candidates may find it helpful to review the syllabi below to understand the types of skills and some subject knowledge areas we will be looking to assess:
Our team of assessors review each candidate’s performance across the entrance papers, her interview, and the reference we receive from her current Head Teacher.
Places are offered in February of Year 9.
You will have until the beginning of March in Year 9 to accept your place and pay the acceptance fee and deposit.
In June of Year 9, parents receive confirmation of their daughter's House and be given access to an online portal containing our joining information and forms to be completed.
In late June / early July, you'll have contact with your new Houseparent.
The Autumn term begins at the start of September. Arrangements vary each year, but new students tend to have an induction a day or two before the term begins, to give them chance to settle in.
If you have missed the application deadlines, we are occasionally able to fast track an application, although we cannot guarantee that this will result in a place. For a conversation about late entry options for your daughter, please do contact our Admissions Team via the "Request a Callback" feature on our Admissions Portal.
