The first St Austin's boarding house opened in the 1880s as a lodging for mature students. From 1919 - 1933, St Austin's was located in a terrace of Victorian houses which went on to become West Wing on College's main teaching staff. The current St Austin's was opened in 1933 and underwent a year-long full refurbishment in 2015-16.
"I joined College in September 2016 as Head of English and moved into the role of Houseparent of St Austin's in January 2024. Having started my teaching career in Oxfordshire, I then taught and worked in boarding at an international school in Hong Kong.
“St Austin's is one of College's oldest boarding houses and has been in its present location since 1933. It is a warm, welcoming and supportive boarding house where staff and students enjoy living in a homely environment full of kindness and fun.
“I live in St Austin's with my husband and our dog, Mabel, who adores all the fuss, love and treats she receives from the students!”
