Warmest congratulations to all our pupils who received their GCSE results yesterday. Right across the country and over many months, Year 11 pupils grappled with the changes and uncertainty surrounding their first public exams series, and lost extended periods of face to face learning. We are delighted that this did not deter them from giving their all, resulting in just over 86% of CLC pupils securing 9/8/A* grades, and 54% achieving 9/8/A* in all papers. Principal Eve Jardine-Young said, ‘I am full of praise for the maturity shown by our UC5s as they adapted to their first significant public assessments. They have demonstrated a strength of character beyond their years and embodied the positive values of mutual respect, integrity and courage, on which a CLC education is founded. Equally, they approached their post-GCSE programme with an undimmed enthusiasm and excitement for learning, which demonstrated a passion for the next stage of their education in the Sixth Form. I would also like to pay tribute to the unstinting support of all CLC staff and the positive engagement of parents during this challenging period for their children.’
