Pupils at Cheltenham Ladies’ College are celebrating exceptional A Level results today.
The A Level Class of 2022 has secured places to study at a range of top universities across the UK, including Bristol, Cambridge, Durham, Edinburgh, Imperial, London College of Fashion, Manchester, Oxford and Warwick, as well as world-leading US colleges including UCLA, Brown, Boston University and Vanderbilt.
A number of students have also secured places to study at prestigious universities in Canada, Ireland and Spain, while others have opted to start their own business or pursue a professional sports career.
University courses range from Aerospace Engineering at Bristol, Modern and Medieval Languages at Cambridge, and Renewable Energy Engineering at Durham, to Film and Television at UAL, Law at UCL, and PPE at LSE.
Across the cohort, more than three quarters of results (77%) are A* and A grades, with over half of all A Level pupils (58%) achieving three or more A*/A grades.
Principal Eve Jardine-Young said: “I am delighted not only by the outstanding results that our IB and A Level pupils have achieved, but also by the maturity, dedication and perseverance they have displayed throughout the pandemic.
“The disruption to their GCSEs and subsequent exam cancellations due to the pandemic mean that this is their first experience of public examinations. These exceptional results are just one of many reasons that we feel extremely proud of them.
“Our heartfelt thanks also go out to our exceptional teachers, pastoral and support staff, and Professional Guidance Centre, for helping all our pupils to navigate the challenging circumstances they have faced.”
