At the end of the Autumn Term we held our first day of in-person Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) ballet examinations at the Health and Fitness Centre since the Covid pandemic. For the last two and a half years, students have been taking their exams under filmed conditions, so it was fantastic to have an examiner and a pianist in attendance.
These students dedicate many hours of their time to train and prepare for the exams, attending between four and eight hours of lessons per week. The RAD examination syllabus is on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) in England, Wales and Northern Ireland and the level of exams these students took are equivalent to a Level 3 Qualification such as an AS/A Level.
ISTD Modern and Tap exams were also held and all the students achieved outstanding results. Congratulations to the following girls:
LC3 (Year 9):
Michelle
UC5 (Year 11):
Maddy
Edie
Karly
Lila Mae
SFC1 (Year 12):
Meredith
Isadora
Lulu
Meagan
Between them, they achieved seven High Merits and six Merits. Special mention to Edie (UC5 / Year 11) who took two exams, and Isadora (SFC1 / Year 12) who took three exams in one session.
