Dance Showcase 2022
1st December 2022

On Saturday 19th November, we presented our annual Dance Showcase. This year, the Music Department joined the Dance Department with the String Serenaders playing live on stage for many of the performances. It was the first time that College has tried this idea and it was amazing.

Bringing live music and dance together is no easy task and requires a lot of rehearsal. It certainly paid off. A total of 96 pupils performed over two performances to packed audiences of pupils, staff, parents, families and friends. Ballet, modern, tap and a bit of jazz brought us both beauty and finesse and a little bit of hip and cool. The dancers, without exception, rose to the occasion showing us how hard they work to achieve such high standards in dance. Their love and enjoyment of dance and performing to an audience was on show every second, from the very new dancers to the more experienced.

Hats off to the String Serenaders who had a very busy week of rehearsals and performance. A big thank you and congratulations to the Dance Department of Ms Willoughby, Miss Kurzweil and Miss Jowett for all their hard work with the dancers, and Mr Bailey for coming up with the idea to have live music and leading the String Serenaders. This has certainly become one of the highlights in the Creative Arts calendar at College. We’re looking forward to 2023 already.
