Dance Showcase 2025
3rd December 2025

Last week, the Dance Department brought the timeless fairy tale of Cinderella to life in a dazzling production that combined humour, heart and a touch of magic.

From the moment the curtain rose, the sold-out Parabola Arts Centre theatre was transported into a world of sparkling costumes, lively choreography and memorable performances by 95 girls across all year groups.

In Act One, Cinderella was portrayed with warmth and grace, capturing both her kindness and resilience. The stepsisters provided comic relief through exaggerated gestures and playful routines, while the Fairy Godmother’s entrance drew audible gasps. In Act Two, Cinderella’s performance conveyed her kindness and quiet strength with true elegance. The ballroom sequence was a highlight, sweeping waltzes and synchronised group formations created a sense of grandeur. Prince Charming’s charm and sincerity balanced the story beautifully, making the final reunion feel truly heartfelt.

The dancers’ commitment was evident throughout, from the smallest gestures to the most demanding lifts. The creative use of props, such as the iconic slipper, added clarity to the storytelling without breaking the flow of the dance. Behind the scenes, the teachers ensured smooth transitions and atmospheric lighting that enhanced each mood.

This production was more than a retelling of a classic fairytale; it was a celebration of the artistry, teamwork, and imagination of our Dance Department!
