Pupils at Cheltenham Ladies’ College are celebrating outstanding GCSE results today, with the highest possible grade 9 making up almost half (47%) of all results, compared with the national average of 5%.
Almost three quarters of all results (72%) were awarded the top 9/8 or A* grades, and more than four in five results achieved (86%) were A*-A / 9-7 grades.
Alongside their GCSE studies, 33 students also undertook the Higher Project Qualification (HPQ), with 100% achieving A*/A grades.
Principal Eve Jardine-Young said:
“I am incredibly proud of these pupils and the outstanding results they have achieved, which highlight their ambition, talent and focus. They have shown determination and adaptability, balancing academic study with their wider interests. We are excited to welcome them into Sixth Form, where we know they will continue to thrive.
“I would also like to thank our dedicated teaching, pastoral and support staff, who have encouraged and championed the girls throughout.”
Bethan Coupland, Head of Upper College, commented:
“We are delighted with this fantastic set of GCSE results and the journeys that sit behind each one. These pupils have thrown themselves into CLC life, competing in sport, debating, volunteering and supporting charities, performing on stage and in concerts, and embracing the Silver Duke of Edinburgh Award.
“Their enthusiasm, creativity and kindness have shone through over the past two years, and it is a privilege to celebrate not just their results, but the young people they are becoming.”
For those wishing to find out more, Cheltenham Ladies’ College is hosting a Sixth Form open day on Friday 19th September 2025 and a general open day on Saturday 11th October 2025.
