The International Society’s annual gala evening took place in the Princess Hall on Saturday 12th November. The committee of 13 SFC2 (Year 13) students had worked creatively and with extraordinary diligence to provide College with tremendous entertainment.
When audience members arrived, they were treated to sweets and snacks from all over the globe. The first act was an internationally themed fashion show. Students from African countries, from Europe and many regions of East Asia, displayed varied and beautiful outfits to the delight of the large and enthusiastic audience.
The show continued with individual acts including remarkable dance choreography from various cultures and an extract from traditional Chinese Opera!
The Hall was decorated with 100 metres of flags of the world – it looked so colourful. All in all, this event, which was organised and run by students, celebrated and rejoiced in so many of their different cultures.
Our thanks to the committee, the amazing compères and the remarkable performers for providing such a wonderful event, enjoyed by so many members of the College community.
