CLC’s Jazz Band took the stage once again at the Cheltenham Jazz Festival on Saturday 29th April in front of a packed audience. With some amazing vocal performances from Luisa (SFC2) and Lucia (UC5), the band performed some classic Rhythm and Blues numbers by Ray Charles, some good old-fashioned swing in the style of Count Basie, and a soul/disco finale with ‘September’ by Earth, Wind and Fire. There were some brilliant solos and really confident playing from across all sections of the band.
Head of Academic Music, Mr Keir said "I am hugely proud of what the band achieved this year, with their attention to detail in musical material and dedication to rehearsals leading to a really tight performance. Members of the public, as well as the College community, have commented on how much they enjoyed the performance, so well done to all involved, and here’s to next year’s gig!"
