Junior Concert 2022
24th June 2022

Our annual Junior Concert was held on Saturday 11th June in the Princess Hall. A total of 17 pupils from Lower College (Years 7 to 9) performed solos in front of the whole of Lower College on what was a sunny Saturday morning at College. Not only was the music wide-ranging (from Bach to Albéniz through to John Williams), we also had a variety of instruments on show. Solos came from the flute, violin, piano, cornet, voice and harp. It was hugely impressive that some of these students had not performed in College before, so to play or sing in front of the whole of Lower College was a great achievement.

Each student delivered with musical intention and confidence, and filled the Princess Hall with excellent projection. The musical future is clearly very bright for them. Congratulations to flautists Paloma (LC2 / Year 8), Sofia and Yena (both LC3 / Year 9); violinists Vivienne, Ivy (both LC1 / Year 7), Dolly, Michelle (both LC2 / Year 8) and Anya (LC3 / Year 9); pianists, Jojo, Ivy (both LC1 / Year 7), Eva, Molly, Cloris (all LC2 / Year 8) and Susie; cornet player Isabella; vocalist Katie and harpist Janice (all LC3 / Year 9) for their wonderful performances.

Special thanks to our accompanists, Miss Baldock and Mr Jones, and to all the visiting music teachers who helped the pupils prepare so well for their performances.

Mr Bailey, Head of Strings
