Law Week 2026
26th February 2026

On Tuesday 25th February, College welcomed representatives from the law firm, Harrison Clark Rickerbys. They ran a series of workshops in the morning, learning about the different types of Law, including employment and family law, to name but a few.

This was followed by preparation for a Mock Trial, where students were divided into Claimants and Defendants. The Mock Trial took place in the afternoon, and students interrogated the witnesses and listened to the judge’s verdict.

More than 20 CLC students attended, along with three pupils from All Saints Academy.

The whole day helped them understand better what a career in Law could look like and put into practice many skills.

I found the Law Day both informative and engaging. We began the day by rotating between different paralegals who shared their experiences in different fields such as employment law and property law. They spoke to us about the day-to-day reality of legal work, which was incredibly enlightening. We were also given the opportunity to ask questions and deepen our understanding of the many different pathways available to enter the profession.

Towards the end of the day, we participated in a mock trial where we were assigned roles and given the chance to practice the critical thinking and courtroom etiquette required. This was definitely the highlight of my experience. It helped me to realise the weight of judgments and compromises made in a courtroom. Overall, it was an eye-opening experience that has encouraged me to explore my career options more broadly.
