On Tuesday, we were treated to an absolutely fantastic 30 minutes of music performed by our LC1 and LC2 Music Scholars.
Margaret started the concert with a beautiful performance of Hubay’s ‘Idyll’ – performed with such composure and musicianship. This was followed by a stand-out performance by Seikemi of ‘Times are Hard for Dreamers’ from Amelie. Her performance gripped the room and was met with resounding applause. Margaret and Grace followed this with some characterful Dances by Bartok for violin duet. Their warm and balanced playing brought out the folk element of Bartok’s writing with good humour. The concert was brought to a close by performances of Beethoven and Ginestera by Ellie. The drama of the Ginestera certainly ended the concert on a high, giving the audience plenty to digest.
I would like to thank the girls and their teachers for working so hard, at this particularly busy point of the year to give the audience such a feast of music. A real joy – thank you!
