The first Saturday of term was a thrilling one for our LC1 pupils. Our Boarders were excited to welcome Day pupils to stay with them in their Boarding Houses for much of the day and overnight, while our Day Students arrived keen to move in.
We knew they were in for a fantastic time, and it was clear from the the chatter and merriment that they had great fun with all the activities on Saturday afternoon, as they mixed across the Houses.
After a lovely supper altogether, the LC1 pupils arrived in high spirits for the eagerly anticipated Murder Mystery held in College. They relished having College to themselves and raced around by torchlight solving our very own ‘Whodunnit?’…
Huddled together in small groups and communicating in excited whispers, they were led into the darkened College Library, where they went past the ‘crime’ scene. Using torches, they to studied the ‘evidence’ alongside the inert body of none other than Miss Ralph!
Before long, they were racing around, determined to solve the poisoned doughnut murder based on suitably challenging clues. With shrieks, laughter, whispers and calling to one another throughout, they expended a great deal of energy and thoroughly enjoyed the challenge, and who would have thought… it was all over the matter of a parking space!
This annual event at the start of term, provides a lively time post-holidays. The January evening also provides darkness early on, making the soiree suitably spooky and fun in the College corridors. This annual event is another wonderful opportunity for us to make happy memories at CLC.
