LC2 Camp 2025
18th June 2025

On Friday 6th June, 61 students and five staff left College for the annual LC2 Camp. On arrival at the Pioneer Centre in Cleobury Mortimer, the girls were introduced to their instructors for the weekend and whisked off on a whistle stop tour.

I decided to follow one group for the weekend and first up was a laser tag session, which pitted two opposing teams against each other and was great fun to watch. We then moved on to the abseil session from the climbing tower and a long zip-wire from the same tower. All the girls had a go at abseiling, even though standing backwards on the edge of the tower 10 metres up is a little daunting! The zip-wire is always a favourite and the girls got to have a couple of runs.

After a lovely fish and chip supper, we continued with fencing indoors and the whole group enjoyed getting to grips with a foil!

The next morning, we started with the high trek course, best described as an obstacle course 20 metres off the ground. I decided to join in with the girls and I have to say it was pretty scary. Well done to the girls who overcame their fears to push themselves. This was followed by climbing on the same tower with all the girls again managing to complete at least one run to the top.

After lunch we adjourned to the high ropes course, which include an infamous ‘leap of faith’ from the top of a very wobbly tower to a trapeze. The other high ropes course was a slow climb along several wobbly levels, each increasing in height. It was really pleasing to see many of the girls really push their fears to the back of their minds to complete the courses. We then headed off the nightline course which was a fairly straightforward obstacle course but done blindfolded!

Following supper, the girls split into smaller groups to face the CLC catapult challenge. This tested their design and teamwork skills to make a working catapult out of 15 sheets of A3 paper, cellotape and a few elastic bands to propel a ping-pong ball the furthest. There were some very inventive designs and all the teams succeeded in launching the ball.

The last morning saw our group enter the indoor caving complex. The girls braved the darkness and spiders to complete an enjoyable weekend. Fun and games were followed by an awards ceremony, where many of the girls were awarded certificates for achievement, teamwork and effort.

After a Sunday roast lunch, we set off back to Collage.
